As those who work in run-and-gun video content creation and streaming know, getting high-quality (or even just average-quality) audio while on the run can be quite tricky. However, as Gen Z influencers continue to change what is acceptable for content creation these days (holding the lapel mic like a handheld, for example) they don’t have to hurt your eardrums in the process.
The new RODE Wireless Micro is an ultra-compact, two-person wireless microphone system designed to give these solo and small team social video experts high-quality audio that is affordable and, most importantly, easy to use.
Let’s take a look at this new wireless microphone system and how it could be the perfect audio gear addition to your (or your team’s) production workflows.
The RODE Wireless Micro System
Designed to deliver quality, hands-free audio for mobile content, this system includes a pair of ultracompact clip-on transmitters, each with a built-in omnidirectional microphone, and a single, dual-channel receiver that has been tailored to plug directly into the USB-C port or Lightning port on your iOS smartphone or tablet.
Which, you know, should make it about as easy as possible to use as the components will pair up automatically when powered on to provide reliable wireless transmission at a range up to 328 feet, and can handle up to 135 dB SPLs with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range.
2-Person Audio Company
Another neat aspect of this new system is that, as a content-friendly product, it should be ideal for a wide variety of video content types. It’ll be great for man-on-the-street type content with one microphone or for podcasts or vlogs that need to mic both an interviewer and an interviewee.
The system also features internal rechargeable batteries in each transmitter that can keep the system running for up to 7 hours, making it quite versatile in the field. The mics can be charged in a charging case, which can provide two additional charges for an extra 14 hours of operation, extending the system runtime to 21 hours.
Overall, the system is quite compact and lightweight. It should be easy to keep discreet and provide some clean visuals for your professional shoots, too. There are even additional furry windscreens to help ensure clear outdoor recording.

What’s also nice is that the system will work in tandem with the RODE Capture video recording app for even more control over your video and audio settings. For more info on the RODE Wireless Micro, you can check out the full specs below:
