Like all of our other new Thunderbolt 5 solutions here at OWC, the new ThunderBlade X12 is coming home from its debut trade show with a best of show award. ThunderBlade X12 is the fastest and highest capacity shuttle and editing RAID SSD in the world.
This week in Las Vegas, Videomaker tapped the ThunderBlade X12 as the Best Desktop Storage solution at NAB 2025. The publication cited the X12’s blazing fast speeds, RAID-ability, and quiet operation as some of the reasons why this new drive won a Best of NAB award.
ThunderBlade X12 is the answer to Motion Picture Professionals and DITs looking for a production shuttle RAID capable of offering large amounts of storage at blazingly fast sustained speeds in a portable package.
ThunderBlade X12 boasts speeds up to 6,600 MB/s, doubling the performance of its predecessor. Capacities range from 12TB to 96TB with RAID 0, 1, 4, 5, and 10 configurations.
Beyond being purpose-built for on-set production use, these capabilities make it the perfect, premium editing drive for video editors and VFX artists working with cutting-edge workflows such as multi-cam sequences at 4K, 6K, 8K, and 12K RAW video, or stereoscopic 360 VR (Spatial Video).
The ThunderBlade X12 is the latest award-winning Thunderbolt 5 solution from OWC. The new Envoy Ultra SSD picked up best in show awards at IBC and CES from CineD and TechRadar, respectively. The new Thunderbolt 5 Hub also won a best in show award from TechRadar at CES
