Exploring the Navigator
Workspace is similar to having a favorite folder or project that you reference regularly. You can add as many workspaces as you need.
You can add OWC Jellyfish shares, folders, and other hard drives to the Workspace by simply dragging and dropping into the Workspace area, or right-click over the Workspace> add a folder to Workspace.
You can also clear a workspace by right-clicking over the workspace and selecting Clear Workspace
Kyno needs a connection to the storage in order to have it be available to search its contents.
Occasionally disconnects from the OWC Jellyfish server might occur due to sleep settings on the computer being used, when this happens KYNO will intelligently grey out your folders and share in the workspace as well as place a strike through them.
Once the OWC Jellyfish Share is reconnected it will be available to you in the Workspace without the grey and strikethrough. To avoid your Mac falling asleep, see this article for instructions on how to change your computer's sleep settings.
Devices are where you can see the internal and external hard drives that show up on your system. This can include various OWC Jellyfish shares that are mounted on to your computer as well as camera cards, production shuttle drives as well as any other server that’s mounted to your computer.
The Activity portion of the navigation menu shows a submodule of jobs that are currently running as well as ones that have finished. You can hide the activity menu by clicking on hiding next to it. This is very useful to keep track of jobs like transcodes, rewraps, or exports.
In order to view the files on your storage device, you will need to use the Drilldown icon/ button.
You can navigate to your OWC Jellyfish share in the navigation menu under Devices, once you locate the share or folder within the share you can activate drill down by clicking on the drill down icon or Command +D on a mac and Control +D on windows.
Once you drill down on a OWC Jellyfish Share/ Folder/HD, all the contents will be available for playback, adding metadata, markers, making subclips, and sending those assets to your favorite Non-Linear Editing software.
TIP: You can hide the Navigator by Command+N on Mac or Control+N on windows. Doing so will give you plenty of real estate on a laptop to explore your media.
