Other World Computing (OWC) announces shipping of new Mercury Elite-AL Pro FW800/400+USB2 RAID external hard drive Storage Solution starting at $279.99. The new Mercury Elite-AL Pro Striped RAID-0 solution is offered in 320 gigabyte (GB) to 1.5 terabyte (TB) capacities and features FireWire 800 (9 pin), FireWire 400 (6 pin), and USB 2.0 (backwards compatible to USB 1.1) connection ports and the latest SATA II 3G Hard Drive mechanisms.

The new Mercury Elite-AL Pro RAID Solutions provide (2) FW800 ports, (1) FW400 port, and 1 USB 2.0 port for data transfer up to 80Megs/Sec, and come packaged with FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB Cables; EMC Retrospect Backup; and Intech HD Speedtools. Units are backed by a two-year OWC Warranty; internal mechanisms are backed by an additional three-year manufacturer's warranty.
