Low-cost, premier national Internet Service Provider (ISP) OWC.netand parent company Other World Computing (OWC) the industry's leading technology solutions provider, are upping the wattage of the spotlight for the Adult & Child Rehab Center's First Annual Women's Golf Outing, "Tee to Tea," to be held Monday, October 2nd, at 1 p.m. at the Woodstock Country Club.
Former Hollywood personality Rikki Lee Travolta, now an executive spokesperson for national Internet provider OWC.net and Woodstock-based parent company Other World Computing, will be raffled off to benefit charity as a part of the Adult and Child Rehab Center's annual Women's Golf Outing Fundraiser "Tee to Tea" on October 2 at the Woodstock Country Club.
Having modeled alongside romance novel cover figure Fabio, served as spokesperson for National Dance Week, and been recognized with Donny Osmond and Patrick Cassidy by Broadway World News as one of the Top Three headliners in the world in the musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," Travolta relocated to the area to be a dedicated single-father to his son Valentino. Since joining the community Travolta has been a lightning rod for charity fundraising, community betterment, and civic development in representation of Other World Computing and OWC.net.
Under the leadership of CEO Larry O'Connor, OWC.net became the first corporation in Woodstock history to serve as the primary sponsor of the annual Woodstock Fireworks- renamed in appreciation of the company's dedication as the OWC.net Woodstock Fourth of July Fireworks.
For the October 2 charity auction to benefit the Woodstock-based Adult and Child Rehab Center, the winning raffle ticket holder will not only receive Travolta's exclusive company for the day-long golf and tea outing, but will also receive his service as their personal caddie for the golf portion of the event. In addition, the caddie services of three other local notables will also be raffled off: Dan Dreyer, American Community Bank; Chris LaCivita, Adult & Child Rehab Center; and Adam Grossen, Stanley Steemer, Grayslake.
Bringing a touch of Hollywood with him to Woodstock, Travolta has recently negotiated endorsement deals for Other World Computing and OWC.net with "American Idol" finalist David Radford and the feature film "Yesterday Was A Lie" featuring Chase Masterson (Leeta on "Star Trek Deep Space Nine"), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca in the "Star Wars" trilogy), and John Newton (Superboy in "The Adventures of Superboy").
Other Word Computing's data storage products are now used by the major Hollywood animation studios, by many of the world's leading professional musicians, and are a key part of the production of the new PBS series "Building Green" that premiers in October and focuses on environmentally conscious building techniques - which directly reflects Other World 'Computing's dedication to building its planned new headquarters to meet or exceed many environmental building initiatives.
The 9-hole golf outing is being hosted by Adult & Child Rehab Center, located at 708 Washington St., Woodstock. The non-profit organization provides physical rehabilitation services to adults and children, equally benefiting the insured, underinsured and uninsured of McHenry and Boone counties.
There will be fun events and unique raffle prizes at each of the 9 holes at the "Tee to Tea" event. Participation is $75 per golfer. A high tea, to be served at 4 p.m., is included in the ticket price. Tickets are also available for $25 for just the high tea at 4 p.m.
