Other World Computing (OWC) today announced that at the Macworld 2007 Conference & Expo it will highlight the OWC MercuryäOn-The-Go portable storage solution – a pocket-sized, 11-ounce, fully bus-powered, ultra-durable external hard drive engineered with the best 2.5" Seagate and Hitachi mechanisms available to easily transport and protect data. The On-The-Go is available in capacities from 40GB to 200GB, and with a choice of FireWireâ 800/400 + USB 2.0, FireWire 400 + USB 2.0, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0 configurations. Preconfigured On-The-Go solutions come with EMC Retrospect and Intech Speedtools starting at $95.99; add your own hard drive models are available from $29.95.

The OWC Mercury On-The Go is available with ATA and Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive mechanism options and is equipped with a shock isolation system and an impact resistant acrylic enclosure. Measuring at only 3"W x 5.5"L x 1"H, and weighing less than 11 ounces, the On-The-Go portable storage line is ideally suited for mobile, office, and personal use.
OWC Mercury On-The-Go solutions are fully bus powered via USB 2.0 and FireWire, allowing complete operation without any power adapter, although an optional AC adapter is supplied. Preconfigured On-The-Go solutions are priced from $95.99 and include EMC Retrospect for data protection and the Intech HD Speedtools utility suite, a $200 software value. A rugged exterior case and built-in shock protection ensure maximum data security during use and in transit.
