Other World Computing (OWC), the world's leading destination for cutting-edge Mac and PC upgrades and accessories, has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of "Fastest-Growing Privately Owned Companies in America" for a seventh consecutive year, one of only 356 companies to appear on the prestigious list seven or more years. In addition to achieving a three-year growth rate of 64 percent, the LEED Platinum certified firm, headquartered in a wind-powered building, was also ranked 32nd on the Inc. 5000 "Top Computer Hardware Companies" list.
The exclusive ranking list by Inc. magazine represents a comprehensive look at America's independent-minded entrepreneurs, defined by Inc. 500/5000 selection methodology as U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent (i.e. not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies) as of December 31, 2012.
Other World Computing debuted on the inaugural Inc. 5000 "Fastest-Growing Privately Owned Companies" List in 2007 with a "Computer and Electronics Top 100" category ranking of 78 and a 3,378 overall ranking, and has been named to the list every year since then. "Not all the companies in the Inc. 500 | 5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields they are as famous as household-name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do. They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy," said Inc. Editor Eric Schurenberg.
"We're incredibly proud of this recognition by the editors of Inc., which underscores our market position as one of the only Mac and PC hardware companies to focus on development and manufacturing here in the United States," said Larry O'Connor, founder and CEO of Other World Computing. "Since the company was founded 25 years ago, we have expanded from a one man operation to currently more than 160 team members with offices and distribution facilities in three states. Our customers have been – and always will be – our key drivers for success and we sincerely thank them. Every day at OWC, we work to earn their trust by keeping customer satisfaction and product excellence as a never-changing mission."
