Other World Computing (OWC), a leading provider of products and services for the Macintosh marketplace, today introduced the OWC Mercury On-The-Go 60 gigabyte (GB), 2.5-inch portable Firewire drive – the largest 2.5-inch portable Firewire storage solution available on the market.
The drive features an Oxford 911 chipset, a 60GB IBM Travelstar drive and a maximum data transfer rate of 400 megabits per second. The drive weighs less than 11 ounces and fits in the palm of a hand.

OWC’s Mercury On-The-Go 2.5 inch portable Firewire storage solutions are available in a variety of speeds and with different storage capacities, including the 20GB, 30GB and 40GB drives at 4200 RPMs and 20GB, 48GB, and 60 GB drives at 5400 RPMs. Pricing for portable solutions begin at $199.97, and OWC also offers a variety of OWC Mercury external Firewire storage solutions beginning at $159.95.
The new 60GB, 2.5-inch, 5400RPM drive is available exclusively from OWC at www.macsales.com for $639.97. All drives come with a one-year warranty.
