Other World Computing (OWC), a leading provider of products and services for the Macintosh marketplace, today introduced new warranty and return policies that will help customers get quicker fulfillment on products purchased from OWC.

“Other World Computing has always listened to its customers and worked hard to be responsive to their needs,” said Larry O’Connor, president of OWC.“This is reflected in our high percentage of repeat and referral business, as well as our recent Gold Honoree recognition bestowed by Bizrate.com for our ‘outstanding customer support’ and performance, which placed OWC in the top 10% of merchants tracked. We listen to our customers and from their comments and suggestions, we are always working to evolve and deliver the highest standards. Although a return is rarely needed, we understand at times it can be inconvenient and frustrating.”

“We always stand behind every product we sell, and now, we are pleased to introduce new advance cross-ship polices to assure OWC customers of a fast turnaround when one is needed. If a customer buys a hard drive, upgrade card, video card, etc. from us, and a replacement is required within 30 days from the purchase date, we will advance ship a new item direct from our inventory without additional cost to our customer. We have also enhanced our existing Lifetime Warranty included with OWC memory products to provide advance replacement at any point for the fulfillment of this warranty. Our customers depend on the products they purchase from us, and we want to make sure if an exchange is needed, our customers can quickly get back to business without delay.”

For example, whereas most companies require customers that need an exchange to send back the faulty product before a replacement will ship, OWC customers have an immediate replacement shipped out for most items, thus eliminating unnecessary downtime and frustration. As OWC sends replacements out via one- to two-day air delivery service, customers receive a prompt replacement without any extra hassle.

“All our memory products are top-quality with specifications that meet or exceed those required for the machine we advertise compatibility with,” O’Connor said.“Furthermore, we test each and every memory module on special memory test machines prior to selling. In spite of our extensive and rigorous testing and quality assurance programs, it is still possible for a module to fail for one reason or another. In those instances, we want as little inconvenience for our customers as possible – hence, the new cross-shipping and warranty programs at OWC.”

OWC’s new policies have been in effect since March 15, 2002 and apply to nearly all the products OWC offers. Such products will be shipped directly from OWC’s inventory, whereas other retailers normally require customers pursue replacements under warranty from the product manufacturer, and fulfillment can often take weeks.
